WRITTEN AND DIRECTED BY GIORGIO JOHN SQUARCIA
La Sottile Zona Rossa is a choral documentary that reconstructs the events of July 20, 2001, the day Carlo Giuliani was killed during the G8 protests in Genoa. Through the footage of ten filmmakers embedded with protesters, police forces, Don Gallo and Franca Rame, and the newsroom of Primocanale, the film relives that day from dawn to dusk through multiple points of view. Twenty years later, those images, combined with new interviews, become an immersive narrative of tension, chaos and tragedy, transforming reportage into a powerful collective memory.
