Synopsis

Zona Rossa Sempre is a six-episode documentary series that explores life inside Italian prisons during the year of the pandemic, when the outside world also experienced confinement. Through the eyes of six prison chaplains, the only figures able to move across every layer of prison life, the series tells one day inside six penitentiaries, revealing stories of guilt, punishment, redemption, despair and hope. With a discreet but cinematic approach, no narrator, temporal captions and tight editing, the series immerses the viewer in a hidden humanity, showing that prison is the place where the Red Zone never ends.
